To me, painting has always meant painting in oils. Their unsurpassed
texture and richness help me capture complex shapes and colors,
with intimate patterns of light and shadow.
My style balances impressionism and realism. I use realistic
detail to celebrate the individuality of each subject, but impressionistic
techniques to create an overall emotion. I call my works portraits
because I focus on one individual, one moment, one emotion.

Painting flowers and children is my passion. My favorite flowers are roses
and irises; I enjoy capturing their beauty and vitality. I spend long hours
studying each blossom as a unique individual beautiful flower. For children,
I love to capture their wonderment as they explore the world.
Recently I started a completely new series of still-lifes, called Interludes,
to allow me to express intimate romantic moments.
