My style balances realism and impressionism: realism for compelling details; impressionism for overall emotions. I paint in oils.

My favorite subjects are flowers in bloom, children at play, or scenes of quiet romance.

I call my works portraits because I focus on one individual, one moment, one emotion. I try to celebrate the peace and beauty of life.

I have been fortunate to have had several careers: grade school teacher (in Argentina), mathematics professor (in New York City), and engineering manager (at Intel, in Portland, Oregon), and now artist.

I have won First Prize and Best of Show awards in several Northwest competitions. My works are in galleries in Hawaii, Oregon, Texas, and Nevada, plus private and public collections. I occasionally teach artist workshops.

I will work with you through a proven series of steps to decide on the price and to capture the special spirit and image you want. Every customer has been delighted!

Or, chose a painting from a convenient list.

Then, you will be prompted for your message and the recepient's address. A web page will be built on my server with the painting and message. Email will be sent to the recepient with simple instructions for viewing the web page.

As usual, I'm working on several paintings at once! This way may sound complicated, but it is best for me, since I work slowly with many phases to each painting.

For instance, one advantage of multi-tasking is that the oils in a painting can dry thoroughly between sessions while I work on another painting.

Also, if I hit a technical problem (not uncommon when I'm finishing subtle details and lighting), I can set the painting aside and think for awhile!
