Early in June 1998, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
It was discovered during a routine mammogram. I had surgery, then
6 months of chemotherapy and 7 weeks of radiation. I am done with
the treatments. The prognosis is good: Stage I with excellent
chances of survival.
I still believe that life is wonderful and I continue to paint
beautiful subjects.
I was very touched by email that I got from so many visitors to
the site, wishing me luck and offering their support and their
prayers. Thank you so much to all of you, friends and strangers,
that helped me during the tough times.
High praises go also to the Kaiser
Permanente Oncology Staff here in Portland: doctors, nurses,
counselors, and pharmacists, as well to the Kaiser Cancer Support
group and the wonderful women that share their pain and offer
comfort to others on their difficult journeys.

I participate in the Race for the Cure event
in Portland each year. It is one of the biggest such events
in the nation! My husband prepared a photo diary
of the 2001 race to share with you. |
