What I Like to Paint

I like to paint people engaged in an endeavor that brings them pleasure or joy.  I love to paint children and capture their wonderment at discovering the world.  I am particularly pleased when I succeed in portraying a moment or an activity that gives a glimpse into the soul of the model.  For example, here is my portrait of the "Mums Lady".  She runs a farm and raises mums all by herself outside of Portland, Oregon.  She loves dirt, flowers, and people.  I met her one day travelling about the countryside, and became another of her friends.
